Explanation of how it works for example in the mining industry:
Vehicle to Vehicle (Collision Avoidance System)
If two or more Vehicles approach each other, an algorithm will select which of the Vehicles will switch off allowing the other Vehicle to pass safely. This will also be the case if a number of Vehicles are located in the same area.
Vehicle to Pedestrian (Collision Avoidance System)
In the normal working of the system if a vehicle approaches a pedestrian, the pedestrian will be warned of the approaching vehicle and the vehicle will switch off at a nearer proximity to allow the pedestrian to pass safely.
If a vehicle requires that a pedestrian operates in the same area, the vehicle can now learn the ID of the pedestrian, thereby allowing the vehicle to operate in the same area. If the Pedestrian gets too close to the vehicle the vehicle will shut off to allow the pedestrian to pass.
The driver become a pedestrian in case the vehicle has been parked, the smart device features will be treated as a normal pedestrian.
